The front page of an IGNOU paper looks something like this,

The front page should be placed at the very beginning of your assignment. When IGNOU staff members check your assignment, the first thing they look at is the front page.

This is where you provide all the details related to your program.

The IGNOU front page requires the following information:

• Program Title
• Course Code
• Course Title
• Assignment No.
• Study Centre Code
• Enrolment No.
• Name
• Address
• Phone No.
• Email ID
• Date
• Signature

You will have to fill all this information properly, after which your Front Paper will be completely ready.

Front sheet for offline assignment submission

If your Regional Centre has issued a notice regarding the submission of assignments at an offline study centre, you should not attach the standard IGNOU front page to your assignment.

Because your Study Centre will not accept the Normal Front Paper of IGNOU, you will get the Front Paper with the name of the Study Centre at the same Study Centre, you will have to use the same in your Assignment.

I learned this when I went to submit my assignment offline at the IGNOU Siwan study center; I had to remove the standard front page I had prepared and attach the custom-designed front page provided by the center.

2. Attach Id Card After Front Paper

When writing your assignment, you must attach a photocopy of your IGNOU ID card after the front page.

You can attach a black-and-white copy of the ID card; there is no need to attach a color copy.

3. Attach Addmission Status PDF After ID Card

After the ID card, you need to print and attach your Admission Status PDF.

To get the PDF of your Admission Status, you have to visit https://isms.ignou.ac.in/changeadmdata/AdmissionStatusNew.ASP.

After visiting the website, you have to login with your Enrollment Number and Program Code. your Admission Status will then appear.

You need to click on the ‘Print’ option here to save it to your mobile.

After that, print this PDF and attach it after the ID card.

4. Attach Questions Paper After Addmission Status PDF

Finally, you need to attach the assignment question paper after your admission status PDF.

That is, overall, the question paper should be on the fourth page of your assignment.

5. Add Handwritten Assignment Question Answer

Now after attaching the first 4 important documents, you have to attach your handwritten assignment.

You must use blue and black pens to prepare the assignment. (Do not use red or green pens.)

Write the assignment questions in black ink and the answers in blue ink.

6. Submit Your Assignment Offline or Online

Once you have completed the assignments for all subjects, you need to check the notification from your Regional Centre to determine whether the assignments are to be submitted offline or online.

If online submission is required, your Regional Centre will provide a Google Form link through which you can submit your assignments.

Similarly, if your regional centre has asked you to submit the assignment offline, then in that case you will have to go to the Study Centre and submit the assignment.

Best Page Size For IGNOU Assignment

To create a well-formatted assignment, you should always use A4-sized paper; you can even write your assignment in the ₹50 spring notebooks available in the market.

These notebooks also come in the A4 size.

However, friends, it is not written anywhere in the IGNOU Guidelines that you have to make the assignment only in A4 size. But A4 size is considered the best, because when you print ID card, question paper and front paper, the print will be done only on A4 size paper.

So if you write your assignment on A4 size notebook then it will look good along with your ID card and question paper

Practical Tips on How to Write IGNOU Assignment

As you know, I am also an IGNOU student. I have scored 80-85 out of 100 in assignments of many subjects.

So, based on my experience, I am sharing some practical tips below that you can follow to create an excellent assignment.

1. Do not use AI to write answers.

You must not use AI at all to write your assignment answers.

If you use AI to write your assignment answers, your assignment could be rejected.

You need to write the assignment answers in your own words; do not copy-paste from anywhere.

2. Use Black And Blue Pen

You must use only black and blue pens to complete the assignment.

Use the black pen to write the questions, and the blue pen to write the answers.

3. Avoid Different Different Handwriting

Suppose you have to make assignments for 8 subjects.

So you have to maintain the same handwriting in 8 subjects. This means that it should not happen that you write the assignment of one subject and get it written by your mother or sister for another subject.

If you do this, you might receive very low marks on the assignments.

4. Write Complete Word

If you want good marks in your assignment, then you have to write the answer of your assignment in full words.

The assignment question paper indicates exactly how many words should be used for each answer.

You must adhere to that specific word count.
